On Dreaming

Over the past few week, I’ve been part of several conversations in an online group where we have been talking about our dreams.

A few of the things I’ve learned about dreaming:

  • Don’t confuse dreaming with goals

  • Allow yourself to be creative with your dreams. I like to remind myself that these dreams don’t have to come true, but they don’t have to not come true either.

  • Don’t let time pass without taking any action on your dreams.

  • Let your dream evolve as you evolve.

  • Don’t let people (often well-meaning) take your dreams from you with ill-timed comments, discouragement, or “that look”.

  • When you’re ready, prioritize you’re dreams to make them a reality.

  • Don’t be discouraged by time passing. Dreams can live long.

  • Share your dreams with a friend that will understand your zest.

  • Don’t let bad habits ruin your dreams chances. Like sleeping in late. Or eating bon bons all day. Or any other imaginable habits counterproductive to dreams.

  • Work diligently on your dreams. But also don’t kill your dream by working it to death and not enjoying life.

I could go on and on. But those were my big take-aways. What kind of dreams do you have? Do you have any tips on reaching for your dreams are not getting discouraged?
